About me
My name is James Seishas and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (CA LMFT #117135; CO LMFT #0002416) from Oakland, CA, and I provide individual and couples therapy to residents of California (in-person and remote) and residents of Colorado (remote only).
I approach therapy as a collaborative process between myself and my clients. My hope is to provide a supportive and empathetic environment where you can feel open to sharing and exploring whatever has brought you to enter this work. Whether you're here because of:
ongoing stress or dissatisfaction in your relationship
a recent crisis, trauma or loss
feeling overwhelmed
ongoing or recent depression and/or anxiety
relationship patterns that always seem to repeat themselves
unresolved family or childhood issues or traumas
a persistent feeling of being stuck or unsatisfied in some aspect of life
I will get to know your experience as you see it, look for ways to provide relief, and help you deepen your understanding of, and connection to, yourself, which in turn can become the foundation that healing, meaningful change, a sense of increased wholeness and greater self-acceptance is built upon. For me, the ultimate goal of therapy is not just to feel better - although that will be a part of the experience - but to help you find ways to be more fully yourself.
